  1. Such a brief, bare statement about his death, but what of its impact?

Harry Peach was born in 1875 in Sudbrooke, Lincolnshire, the first child of Henry and Betsy Peach. He married his wife, Emma Dunn of Charltons Terrace in 1906. The following year saw the arrival of their first child, a daughter Doris. The family was living at 5 Upsall Pit Cottages, Barmby Moor in 1911. The following year, a sister for Doris arrived in the shape of Margery.

At the time of Harry’s death, Emma was carrying their third child, a boy, who was born in the summer of 1917 and was named after his late father. She never remarried, a brave decision in those days of limited welfare services. She was still living in the Cleveland area, when she died in the summer of 1961.
