South Skelton Fatality – Frank R Wood – 25 Jun 1908

Aged 21, Drifter, he was bringing two full tubs outbye along the main road to the landing, when a large piece of dogger fell from the roof on to him and killed him; there is a fault or hitch near to, and this may have had something to do with the roof falling; the mine officials thought the fall was due to the hot weather affecting the air going into the mine
