Mining subsidence on Skelton High Street

This diagram is from a claim for damage to a property on Skelton High Street in 1919.

It shows the mine working at Longacres are 117 yards below surface, pillar workings (most stable) within 32 yards and goaf working (pillars removed and collapsed) within 93 yards.

Bolckow and Vaughan reject this claim saying that the cracks in the building are a result of it being poorly built and maintained.
